“Sunday In The Park With Sondheim” at Van Vleck will be performed by MSU Encore, comprised of 20 Graduating Senior BFA Musical Theatre majors from the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University on March 1st, 2015. The concert will begin at 2:00 pm. The program will focus on the work of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim and will include selections from shows such as Sunday In The Park With George, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Gypsy, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Follies, Anyone Can Whistle and Merrily We Roll Along among others. Directed by Professor Clay James, who serves as Coordinator of Musical Theatre, Music Direction and Accompaniment will be provided by Professor Sarah Brett England. The BFA Musical Theatre program at Montclair State University is considered one of the top ten musical theatre professional training programs in the United States and recent alumni currently represent Montclair State University on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in National Tours and major regional theatre’s across the country.
