Pauline Chernichaw (b. Germany) grew up in the Bronx, New York. Her photographs and paintings have been widely exhibited in the last twenty years. Coming from an artistic family that included filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, she developed a passion for art at a very early age.
Chernichaw studied at the University of Miami and Brooklyn College. She continued to pursue her artistic vision at New York University and went on to do work at the International Center of Photography where she was mentored by photographers Mary Ellen Mark and Alex Webb.
Her work has been featured in recent exhibitions including “Breaking Surface” at Galleria Ca’d’Oro, New York and “Out and Out” at Ceres Gallery in Chelsea, New York. Publications include museemagazine.com, ArtSlant, NYphotoreview, National Museum of Women in the Arts, and ‘The Record’ for the Montclair Art Museum’s Affordable Art Fair. Chernichaw’s photography has been exhibited throughout the United States, Europe and Australia and is included in private and museum collections.
Chernichaw is a member of Studio Montclair and an award-winning member of the National Association of Women Artists.
