Nature Journaling
with Denise Barth
Grades 3 to 5
Contemplate,
draw, and write about the wonders of the great outdoors.
No previous experience necessary, just a love for, and a
curiosity about nature. Please bring a journal, pencil,
and color pencils.
Wednesday afternoons: April 25, May 2, 9, 16th. Time:
3:45 - 5:00 pm
Ages: Children in grades 3 to 5. Fee: $60/Friends;

 GARDEN
DISCOVERIES PRE-K PROGRAM -
3 to 5 year olds
Join us at Van Vleck House & Gardens for
an afternoon of discovery in and around the gardens. Our Garden Discoveries classes are designed to inspire children
about the natural world around them.
Since each child learns
in a different way, every class examines one topic through
stories, outdoor exploration, and hands-on activities and
specimens.
Each program includes a guided hike, hands-on activities and
a story. Parents or caregivers must accompany each child.
Classes are held twice a month, and each class has
individual registration. Fee: $7 / Friends; $12 / Others per class (no
charge for adults)

BACK YARD BIRDERS CLUB - Grades
2nd through 5th
Plant the seeds for a lifelong passion when you
introduce your child to the wonders of bird watching. Students
in grades 2 through 5 are invited to join birding expert Deb
DeSalvo in an after-school program to get up-close and personal
with the birds right here in our own backyard.
After-school on 3 Mondays a month
March through June Time: 4:30 - 5:15pm
Fee: $30/month/Friends and $36/month/Others. |

TIME OUT in the Garden
Spend you family time together here at the Van Vleck creating a
garden of pizza ingredients! Each family will plant a container
garden filled with basil, oregano, and peppers. Since no pizza
is complete without tomatoes, participants will also receive
heirloom tomato seedlings to transplant at home.
Date: Thursday
May 17th Time:
3:45 pm to 4:45 pm
Fee: $15 per family - FRIENDS; $20 per familu - OTHERS.
Space is limited, please register by Monday, May 14th
