GARDEN DISCOVERIES PRE-K PROGRAM
Join us at Van Vleck House & Gardens for
an afternoon of discovery in and around the gardens.
Our Garden Discoveries classes, for children ages 3 to 5, are
designed to inspire children about the natural world around
them. Since each child learns in a different way, every class
examines one topic through stories, outdoor exploration, and
hands-on activities and specimens. Classes are held twice a
month, and each class has individual registration.
Each program will include a guided hike, hands-on activities and
a story. Parents or caregivers must accompany each child.

BACKYARD BIRDERS CLUB – STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-5 – January through
May
Looking for ways to unplug your child and encourage outdoor
exploration this winter? Join experienced Birder, Deborah
DeSalvo as she brings an after-school Beginner Birding Series to
the Van Vleck Gardens. Starting in January and running through
May the series will be offered in groups of three on Wednesday
afternoons. Each class will include a lesson, guided hike, and a
bird-related game or activity.
